Stories straight from the heart
St Francis Church Salisbury – Wednesday 14 October 7pm
Join us this October to hear firsthand from Christian Aid’s partners in South Sudan how communities are finding hope. Angelina Nyajima Simon Jial and Tut Mai Nguoth are visiting the UK to share vital messages of hope and change from their home country of South Sudan.
Angelina is keen to meet people like you who make her work of creating a society with respect, justice and dignity possible. Voices like Angelina’s rarely cut through the clamour of unrest, but hers are stories that simply must be heard. A former refugee herself she draws on deep lived experience to empower vulnerable populations affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disasters in South Sudan. She is the founder and director of Hope Restoration South Sudan.
Tut Mai Nguoth doesn’t give up the dream of peace. “We are neither the first nor the last country on earth to struggle for peace. I am encouraged by the support of our friends around the world. If we join forces, we can secure peace.”
His personal experience of loss doesn’t diminish his commitment to bring hope to others through the work of the Presbyterian Relief and Development Agency.
Tut and Angelina will speak straight from the heart about the reality of life in South Sudan but will bring their hope that by all of us working together a better future is possible. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of life in South Sudan and discover ways in which you and your community can continue to make a difference. And of course, there’ll be updates on other initiatives Christian Aid has been supporting and a chance to connect with other supporters over refreshments.
