Parish Weekend at Home

Friday 18th – Sunday 20th September 2026.
Theme: Sorrowful yet always rejoicing (2 Cor 6 v 10)

We’re looking forward to bringing St. Andrew’s & St. John’s Church together for our Parish Weekend at Home!
Our speaker for the weekend is Keith Sinclair, Bishop of Birkenhead 2007 to 2021 and former National Director of the Church of England Evangelical Council.

Outline of Events:
There will be lots of activities for young and old, with coffee, tea and meals together including…
Friday evening: Church family time, including a simple picture game, and introductory speaker session.
Saturday: 2 more speaker sessions, kids groups, workshops, afternoon activities, evening entertainment, coffee, meals and more.
Sunday: A final speaker session, kids groups, communion and more food!
It will be a great way to get to know others in our fellowship and study God’s word together.

Sign-Up:
There is a sign-up sheet at the back of church for those wanting to join us. If you are able, adults please could we ask for a £10 donation / contribution to the weekend. You can either use the card reader or pay with cash to the church office.

Volunteering, Workshops & Activities:
Sign-up sheets are now available in St. John’s at the back of the church for volunteering to help with tea/coffee, setting up and clearing up the schoolrooms and baking for Saturday evening. From this Sunday, there are also sign-up sheets for Saturday morning workshops, Saturday afternoon activities, and for the Bring and Share lunch on Sunday.

St. Andrew’s:
Details of all workshops and activities will be on display at St. Andrew’s from this weekend. Those attending from St. Andrews should contact Emma in the church office to put their names down for workshops and activities as some places are limited. This can also be done on the sign-up sheets at St. John’s if attending Tuesday Communion or Gone Fishing Café.
