Events for seniors
Captain’s Table:
When?
The first Saturday of each month.
Where?
St. Andrew’s Church Hall
What?
A lunch club for seniors and those who live alone. Come along with or without your friends, make new friends and enjoy lunch with others.
£6 for a 2 course lunch, a thought for the day and some entertainment!
Holiday @ Home:
When?
Holiday @ Home takes place once a year, usually in August or September. This very special holiday is an all day event for those of mature years (although decidedly young at heart).
Where?
Whilst the physical venue for the holiday is the St Andrew’s church hall, our holiday destinations take us to a wide range of exotic, and distant shores.
What?
Every year the church runs a holiday club for children…so why not for the older generation as well? The holiday provides the chance for church members, their friends, their neighbours, as well as all and sundry, to join us for a day of humour, new experiences, fabulous food and drink (care of the country that we are visiting in a given year), music, entertainment and a thought for the day. All are welcomed and all go home feeling the warmth of friendship, fellowship and perhaps a hint of imaginary suntan.
Festive Fun:
When?
Another annual event for the more mature attendee, this one takes place in December and is an afternoon event.
Where?
St Andrew’s church hall.
What?
As with the Holiday @ Home this event enables us to open our doors and welcome those from the holder generations. Old friends and new join us for a festive half day that has similar trappings to the Holiday @ Home, combining evangelism with a relaxed, fun-filled afternoon of delights.
