Youth @ St John’s
Our key aims are to see the young people of Yeovil coming to know and love Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, fully grasping God’s amazing, gracious love for them; and then helping them to grow into mature disciples who are equipped to live out, and be active in sharing the good news of Jesus with others.
In order to work towards these goals, we have a variety of activities for 11-18 year olds.
Friday Youth
Who? School years 7-13
When? Term-time Fridays, 7.00-8.30pm
Where? St John’s Schoolrooms
What? Our Friday night youth group is a space where young people can have fun, meet with friends and relax after a busy week. Each week we have activities, refreshments, and a short look at what the Bible has to say to young people in Yeovil today. Activities include sports, the chip shop challenge, giant hungry hippos, film nights, talent nights, a bonfire party, baking, water games and lots, lots more. We also arrange occasional socials and weekends away. Come along and try it out!
Sunday morning Pathfinders
Who? School years 7-11
When? The 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month, during our 10:30am church service
Where? St John’s Crypt!
What? After meeting with the whole church for the start of the service, we split off to look at the Bible in a little more depth than on a Friday evening. We also have quizzes, games, drama and craft.
JOY Group
Who? School years 10-13
When? Monthly, alternating between a Sunday and a Monday evening.
Where? A youth leader’s house in Yeovil.
What? We gather for a Bible study and home-made puddings and finish with a short game and a laugh.
