‘The Friends of St John’s was established in 1994 as a separate registered charity with the aim of raising money for the upkeep and improvement of the ‘church fabric’ (that is, the building and it’s fittings). Since 1994 we have raised more than £90,000, seeking to draw support from the wider town community as well as from the church membership. Money is raised from personal donations, but also from running events for all to enjoy. We have a small committee to run the Friends, and new helpers are always welcome!’ Phil Juggins (Chair)
Amidst the changes and uncertainties of life (the impact of covid springs to mind), we look forward to running fund-raising events whenever it is safe and feasible to do so, and we have a list of ideas ready to go! In the meantime, we invite donations to the Friends of St John’s.
